Hello, my name is Gavin Hammond. I own and operate Checkmark Audio, a professional recording studio in Albuquerque, NM. This is also where I teach the piano lessons. Alternatively, I can travel to you or do virtual lessons, at no additional cost. I am a music industry professional with over 29 years of piano experience. I am a mentor for the Radio Record and Film Connection. I have been teaching piano for years and have many established students, most of them between the ages of 5 and 18. I have composed music for video games, animations, films, and have successfully sold music to artists for years. I have also been a studio musician for over 7 years, playing the piano in many professional recordings and with various bands. I believe music is fun and should also be fun to learn. We will start off by learning your favorite songs and the fundamentals of music. I will teach you, or your child, the tools to eventually be able to learn any song. I also encourage creativity and music composition. I find that most teaching methods are outdated with the way people learn today. Music is changing at an astonishingly rapid rate. This is why I have personalized my lesson plans to cater to the unique needs of the individual. I have developed my own teaching method that is fast, fun and effective.
