Description

The Cognitive Rhythms and Computations Lab is conducting a research study about the brain's responses to reward. The purpose of this research study is to understand how mood and emotion affect how the brain processes reward information. If you agree to participate, this study will involve: - Answering questionnaires about your mood and feelings. - Completing a brief confidential interview about your mood and feelings. - Playing simple learning video games for rewarding outcomes. - Having your brain activity monitored! This will be with scalp electrodes (EEG). General (uncommon) risks include discomfort, emotional stress, behavioral fatigue, and inconvenience. Although our staff are fully vaccinated, proper COVID-19 procedures are in place. Both you and the staff will follow these procedures: 1. Only individuals with clear daily symptom reports and temperature assessments will be allowed in the building (this applies to both you and the experimenter you’re working with). 2. “Gel in”: everyone uses hand sanitizer when walking into and out of room. 3. Both you and the experimenter will wear a face mask and gloves for the duration of the study. We will provide unused personal protective equipment for you. 4. Maintain social distance – stay 6 feet apart whenever possible. Face shields/plexiglass barriers may be implemented if contact closer than 6 feet is essential. 5. Speak softly. Participants will be compensated $20 per hour for 2-3 hours. Eligible participants will be 18-55 years old, be fluent in English, have no history of seizures of epilepsy, not have a current or past diagnosis of psychosis or bipolar disorder, will be asymptomatic for COVID-19, and will not have left the state 14 days prior to participation. If you have any questions or would like to participate, please contact us at ‪(505) 289-0743, or via e-mail at [email protected]. Please use the subject line: "AIM 1 - Research Participation".‬‬‬ Thank you for your time! NOTE: If the post is still up, we're still recruiting!
