STUDY DESCRIPTION
If you are the parent and/or legal guardian of the child aged 8 to 12, you and your child may qualify for a research study.
Dr. Kristen Jacobson at the University of Chicago is conducting a research study. This study involves 1
visit. You and your child will receive a confidential, no-cost evaluation to see if you qualify for the study. Study procedures include: research questionnaires from both you and your child, a brief interaction with a therapy dog and a stuffed animal for your child, and 7 saliva samples from your child. During this study we will look at how interacting with therapy dogs is related to how your child feels and behaves. You and your child will each be compensated at a rate of $15 an hour in addition to reimbursement for parking or public transportation costs.
ELIGIBILTY
- Must be the parent and/or legal guardian of a child
- Child cannot have animal allergies or animal phobias.
- Meet other eligibility requirements as outlined by the research protocol.
