Description

The Bird puppies are 12 weeks old. Mom is Magpie and she is a 50-60lbs Shepherd-Shiba-Cattle Dog kind of mix. We suspect there were a few different fathers as well for the litter. We expect the puppies may range from 40-60lbs. Sparrow: 1st pic Sparrow is the one most likely to be barking at his siblings to get them to play. He is the most playful of all of the puppies, especially when it comes to the other dogs. He loves giving humans kisses and getting his tummy rubbed. He’s also the most independent, and what I mean by that is that although he is very friendly, he’s also okay on his own, and will find a comfy spot to lie down that isn’t in a lap. Jay: 2nd pic He is the most mellow of the dogs, often not even choosing to play when he can just lounge with one of us. He is the one who is the first one to come running over to me, bounding over to come say hello. He is more patient than the other dogs-- he won’t really whine or bark, but he just melts when you hold him. He’d rather be on a lap than tugging over a toy. If you rub or scratch his tummy he will stay in your lap for hours. Chickadee: 3rd pic Chickadee is always in the middle of things with her brothers and sisters. She’ll come over to us and want to be pet and loved, but mostly only when all the puppies are doing that. Mostly, she wants to snuggle up with her siblings. At the same time, she’s pretty excitable- she jumps up on me excitedly, for example. When she jumps up on kids or adults, she’s more likely than the other dogs to use her paws on faces. We will only consider a home that has had a dog in the last three years. We believe our puppies need the homes with the most experience. We will consider children who are over the age of 6. Please visit DPSrescue.org for additional information and apply for these puppies.
