Join us this Saturday for our second trash pickup event in Garner! We'll be meeting at Avery Street Park on Saturday, April 10th. Thank you for your interest in attending our second Garner community trash pickup event! Our first event went great, we picked up tons of trash and we had a lot of fun doing it. So get ready for part two! We will be meeting at 12pm this Saturday at Avery Street Park and Recreation Center. From there we will split everyone up into groups of probably 3 people, depending on how many people attend. There will be safety gloves, safety vests, and trash pickers available for everyone. The gloves are polyethylene coated safety gloves, there are different sizes available so everyone have one that fits. There will be black and green trash bags, the green ones will be for recyclables and the black ones will be for garbage. Once a bag is filled it will be left on the street where it will be later collected. The event will go on until 3pm for the first time, but you can participate for however long you'd like. We want to make sure that everyone is safe so please check in before going home for the day. I will make sure to have everyone's contact information as well. This will be a masked event! Everyone should arrive with a mask. Not everything that looks recyclable is! You can check the following link to see whether something is recyclable or not. Even with the safety gloves make sure not to touch any broken glass or anything sharp or otherwise dangerous.
