Kathy Johnson is running as a candidate for Trustee in the Village of Midlothian's April 6 election. Kathy has lived in Midlothian for 26 years with her loving husband and son. She has a B.A. Degree in History and Education from DePaul University, and a Master's Degree in Continuing Education and Professional Development from the University of Illinois. For the past 17 years, Kathy has worked at the American College of Surgeons, where she is the Assistant Director that accredits Simulation Centers around the world. Kathy also manages a budget of approximately 1/2 million dollars and is responsible for 200 volunteers, and their 11 committees. Kathy has volunteered and served in a number of organizations in Midlothian, including St. Christopher Advisory Council for 5 years, both as Vice Chair and Chair15 years of service at St. Christopher FiestaVolunteered as a member of one of the church's counting teams10 years of service in the St. Christopher Athletic Program Adopted a flowerpot for the Midlothian Beautification Committee and her home was twice selected for the Midlothian Garden WalkNational Night Out Against Crime for the Village of Midlothian Annual Midlothian Charity Golf ClassicVillage of Midlothian Plan CommissionVolunteered as a team parent for Bremen's High School Swimming and Water Polo teamsHer goals for the Village: 1. Work to support the economic redevelopment of the downtown area. 2. Support the completion of the MWRD flood project for the residents in the affected areas. 3. Take a systematic approach to review, and revise Village policies and procedures to ensure the Village is run using "best practices" to increase efficiency. 4.
