PHILADELPHIA — The coronavirus vaccine rollout in Philadelphia is getting ready to advance to the next phase.
Officials Thursday said in a news release that the city will begin vaccinating the Phase 1C group starting Monday.
Four specific groups within Philadelphia's Phase 1c priority list will be prioritized before the other groups in Phase 1c.

Those groups are
sanitation workers;maintenance and janitorial staff;utility workers;and postal and package delivery workers;. The Health Department has asked vaccine providers, including pharmacies, to allow these prioritized groups to set appointments.
Other groups prioritized in Phase 1c — including those in higher education, public-facing finance roles, transportation (such as airport and train workers, and taxi, and rideshare workers), construction, telecommunications and IT, the press, the legal industry, and public health workers — will be made eligible later this month.

Those in Phase 1a and 1b groups are still eligible and are encouraged to get vaccinated.
As of Thursday, the city reports 533,099 people have been partially vaccinated and 278,000 have been fully vaccinated.
