Park Construction Company, a regional Highway/Heavy contractor established in Minneapolis, is searching for an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic. Park works throughout the Midwest with a large portion of work in North Dakota. The right person will demonstrate a high safety standard and ability to work in a team environment. Essential Duties & Position Responsibilities -Repair & maintenance of all Park owned & rental equipment and vehicles. -Diagnosing faults using computerized testing equipment. -Driving to the various job sites. -Cleaning, lubricating, and conducting routine services on heavy-duty vehicles. -Performing major repair work when necessary. -Consulting with other mechanics on jobs. -Reporting damaged or faulty equipment to management. -Assemble mechanical components according to specifications. -Examine machines and oversee diagnostic tests to determine functionality problems. -Design a plan of action for all maintenance tasks and upgrades. -Maintain work logs, repairs, and maintenance records. -Offer consultation on maintenance and preventative procedures to machine and vehicle users. -Perform electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical repairs as well as preventative maintenance. -Troubleshoot issues with diesel engines. -Determine what parts and tools are necessary to make repairs. -Maintain a clean and safe work area. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities -High school diploma or GED certificate -Post-secondary certificate or degree in engineering OR training as a mechanic (a plus) -Minimum 3 years of experience as a Heavy Equipment/Diesel Mechanic. -Proficient welding skills necessary. -Manual dexterity -Valid class “B” driver’s license with air brake endorsement and a clean driving record. -Understanding of computer testing technologies. -Extensive knowledge of diesel engines and construction equipment. -Ability to work after-hours and weekends if required. -Good communication skills. -Strong attention to detail with an aptitude for problem-solving. *Park offers an excellent salary, benefit package, and promotion opportunities available to the qualified candidates.
