Press release from the Atlanta Police Department: 04/03/2021 UPDATE: After investigation it was determined that the shooting was justified in self-defense. The person shot, Jesse  Breister, age 34, was arrested and charged with Simple Battery and Criminal Trespass. As of this writing Briester is still undergoing treatment in the hospital from his wounds. PREVIOUSLY RELEASED: On Saturday April 3, 2021 at around 2:20pm officers responded to 500 Northside Circle NW on a report of a person shot. Prior to police arrival the person shot, an adult male, transported himself to the hospital and is in stable condition. The preliminary investigation revealed that the male was in a dispute with his girlfriend. The dispute became physical and another female at the apartment shot the male. Investigators are working to determine what the circumstances that led to the shooting were.      Please keep in mind the above information is preliminary in nature and could change as the investigation progresses or new information comes to light.  This press release was produced by the Atlanta Police Department.
