Alpha Fraternity Management (AFM) is looking to add a Maintenance Service Technician (Tech 1) to our Spring and Summer team. AFM focuses on Fraternity move-out, move-in, and other summer projects to prepare the home for the next group of Fall tenants. We have been a successful business serving Fraternities at Michigan and other Big 10 Schools for 13 years and have built a strong relationship with many national and international groups. Tech 1 will work in partnership with another skilled technician on larger projects but will also be responsible for a number of individual work-orders and room turns as well. The Tech 1 will generally have a basic inventory of hand tools but otherwise, AFM will provide. This position is anticipated to be a full-time work commitment from May - September 1, 2021, but could continue to be a part-time position with additional hours based on work and projects. Some evening or weekend response to emergency situations will be expected, but you will be compensated for such time. We will also provide a $25.00 per month reimbursement for your business use of your personal cell phone on company matters as you will use an AFM work order service program to track your projects, time, and progress. Your typical work hours will be an eight-hour period falling between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday but flexibility is requested. Specific schedules will be determined based on the staffing needed to make sure the company has adequate, trained personnel available at all times during those hours. Some of the various skills required to be successful in a Tech 1 position: Assembly of furniture Light painting Spackling repair General maintenance: basic electrical and plumbing repairs; i.e. Light fixture changes, light bulbs, faucets, toilet repairs; handles, and deadbolts Basic technology skills Able to work independently and in a team environment when needed. Work changes daily but the ultimate goal is to have the room and home ready at AFMs high-quality standards. Work Schedule: Mon-Fri + additional O.T. during peak repairs and projects may be requested Compensation for this position is $16.00 to $17.00 per hour.
