A lot of peoples, many, many peoples, say they love animals, they love cats, want to get a cat, but only if it’s a kitten or a certain purebred cat. These peoples are what I call humanoids, they are not human. Humans domesticated cats for controlling the mice around their grain, and cats became companion animals. Fast forward to the present and there are plenty of homeless cats living a rough life at no fault of their own. Many are strays, runaways, others are unwanted animals people release after losing interest, but ultimately all are there because of people. For two years I tried to find homes to two outdoor cats I feed that had a chance of being adopted, but no one wanted them. One recently perished, was sick the last time I saw him. Another cat disappeared. Both were 6 years old. These cats live an average of 5 years, about half of what they could live if they had a home. You like cats? You want a cat? If you really love animals, what about helping a cat? Consider a homeless cat, or an adult cat at any of the animal control centers, a cat with FIV, or cats available here in CL. They need our help too. Currently I have two of last year’s new arrivals that are friendly who could use a home. Be a human. Don’t be a humanoid. Only serious, responsible, able, good faith inquiries, please! Nothing nefarious! To weed out bad actors, expect a re-homing fee and I will need confirmation where the animal will live. This is not like a pizza delivery, where you write to me “I want a cat. Bring it to me!” I go deliver it like a pizza, drop it off, and forget about it. I’m looking out for the future well being of these animals. There are peoples, a lot of peoples, who have pets the way they have children, by not able to adequately provide for them, living in unsanitary, dilapidated conditions, with all manner of vermin and mold, not able to properly feed or afford a veterinarian. Those and people who have many animals living in squalor where the animals defecate all over the place are not able to have pets, so don’t bother reaching out to me.
