Home staging company servicing primarily the East Bay and based in Oakland, is seeking an Assistant who is smart, organized, physically and temperamentally capable of moving quickly and keeping moving while still smiling throughout the day - including lifting, climbing stairs, etc... We work as a team and big egos or overly sensitive, or insensitive, people need not apply. We have fun when we work and are looking for someone who treats everyone with respect. Expectations • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills • Good attitude, positive interaction and teamwork with co-workers, clients and management • Good time management skills with ability to multi-task and balance competing priorities • Detail oriented with proven organizational abilities • Attention to detail to ensure properties are ready for photos • Set up and breakdown of staged homes, including tasks like - pulling, packing and unpacking fragile accessories; making beds, cleaning all staging items, hanging art and curtains, folding bedding carefully to reduce wrinkling, etc.... • Good eye for color and design, ability to learn the basic principles of what works in a staged home and select items according to our design esthetic • Computer skills, including Microsoft Office including Word and Excel, and Google Sheets and Docs strongly preferred • Ability to operate basic tools (drill, hammer, etc...) Checking inventory for defects/damage. • Maintaining warehouse, various cleaning and organizing tasks and keeping complete and detailed inventory on online system • Physically and mentally fit - able to lift up to 40 pounds, stand for long periods of time, climb, bend, stretch and maneuver up and down stairs - all with a smile! • Creative problem-solving skills - we are looking for someone who thinks, recognizes issues and is capable of creative problem solving but also willing to ask for help and instruction when needed. • Professional manner and appearance; respectful with all clients and team members, no big egos need apply... This role is suitable for someone able to work a flexible schedule, usually 5-6 hours a day, days per week also varies, depending on our staging schedule, 15-25 hours most weeks. We are ideally looking for someone based in the East Bay. Must be organized and pay attention to details. On-the-job training is provided to understand our system and standards and familiarize yourself with our inventory. This could be a good job for a student with a flexible schedule, or a semi-retired person who wants and enjoys staying active or someone with a part-time evening job who wants to get more hours. Prior experience doing similarly varied and demanding work required. We need someone who likes to work and takes pride in what they do, has a professional attitude and friendly demeanor. MUST HAVE your own computer, cell phone, vehicle, driver's license and clean driving record. We work at clients' properties or at our warehouse, depending on the day and you need to be able to meet at those different locations, some not accessible by public transportation, across the East Bay in a timely manner. Compensation - $17 - $20/hr, we pay mileage between job locations Pay depends on candidate's experience, ability and learning curve. This is an hourly position - Number of hours per week subject to change depending on our staging calendar and can be seasonal - we are busier certain times a year and not busy at all other times.
