I need to learn more than my 5 chords, but I like to play gently and although I don't really know what I'm doing that much, I try to form a melody. I'd like to find an older player that can teach me finger picking and maybe we can try to play off each other. Someone that is kind and respectful would be appreciated. I like Simon and Garfunkel and Cat Stevens, and old stuff a lot. I'd like to maybe work with someone to write an original song- that is my dream. I'm not interested in playing out or anything like that, but rather record, record, record. I have a few songs on keyboard that I've recorded if interested in hearing. They were improvisational songs. I don't read music and I just try to remember what keys I played and try to return to them to make what is it called, a hook or riff, or something like that? I like to write lyrics. I'd like a seasoned guitarist who can teach me like a mentor, and yet who isn't above playing and jamming with me all to record our sessions too. I have recording equipment but not yet know how to use it very well. It would be great to figure it out, it's a Tascam digital recorder and some other tech device.
