What happened to the Blues/Jam-bands?

Older guitar player looking for some musician buddies to jam with, maybe once a month, in the flavor of (BB-King, Grateful Dead, etc.). Let me express, not looking to be involved with the proverbial, stressful, Cover project, but with a drummer, bassist, and vocalist, that know and understand what I'm looking for. What happened to the musicians that can get together in a clean environment, chill, call out any Key and just start creating good music together? This is not something for a cover musician that doesn't know how to improv! My goal in this, not to let our inner musical voices die-out, and to turn negative energy from a hard month, or life, into a positive experience. No critics, judgmental, and mean people please...not good for my inner creativity.
