We are seeking a Janitor Maintenance person to join our team! You will be responsible for maintaining a clean and orderly environment. As well as some handyperson duties. This job requires practical skill and knowledge of janitorial practices, maintenance, handyman, equipment, supplies, and procedures, and the ability to perform quality work with attention to knowing and using safe work practices. Responsibilities: Keep buildings in clean and orderly condition inside and out Perform heavy cleaning duties such as cleaning floors and shampooing rugs Perform routine maintenance tasks Organize custodial closets and spaces Maintain working condition of cleaning equipment Clean and disinfect offices, restrooms, and lunchrooms. Clean and service restroom floors with mops and disinfectants. Clean, sanitize lavatories; toilet seats, bowls, and urinals. Restock supplies as needed. Gather and empty trash; rearrange furniture as needed. Clean other floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming. Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment. Remove fingerprints from the door frame, light switches, kick plates, push plates, handles, railings Performs other duties and special projects as assigned. Ability to follow instructions. Ability to utilize a wide array of custodial chemicals; general cleaning chemicals; tools. ​Qualifications: Previous experience in cleaning, maintenance, or other related fields Ability to handle physical workload Strong attention to detail Strong organizational skills PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance: • Maneuvering in and around the worksite • Standing and walking • Bending, kneeling, reaching, and stooping • Lifting boxes or equipment weighing up to 35 pounds, and up to 50 pounds occasionally • Pushing or pulling objects such as vacuums, carts, mops, etc. • May be required to push/pull equipment weighing up to 70 pounds • Grasping both small & large objects • Climbing ladders and/or step stools WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is performed in the office or warehouse environment. Employees are expected to follow their supervisor’s instructions and to perform the tasks requested by their supervisors.
