NOTICE: THIS JOB IS LOCATED IN MONTANA Job Title: Irrigation Service Technician Location: Polson, Montana Pay: $17+ per hour with overtime available commensurate with experience. General Description: Looking for challenging work in the great outdoors? Located in Polson, Montana on the south end of beautiful Flathead Lake, Delaney’s Landscape Center has a unique opportunity for a highly skilled professional Irrigation Technician. The Irrigation Technician will be responsible to service and repair underground sprinkling systems in our area as well as provide support for installation of new sprinkling systems. Our work can be physically demanding, mentally challenging, changing with the seasons, and interesting to those who like plants, water, and people. Specific Responsibilities: • Service and/or install all aspects of irrigation systems, lighting systems, irrigation pumps, etc. • Start and repair as necessary client’s irrigation systems in the spring • Winterize irrigation systems in the fall • Interact with clients on jobsite who have questions or need system repairs. • Maintain a fixed inventory of specific components stocked and ready on the service truck • Regularly update detailed and accurate procedures for starting, repairing, and winterizing ALL irrigation systems encountered • Regularly update detailed and accurate maps with the most recent known information for ALL irrigation systems encountered • Work closely with Irrigation Technician Assistant, coordinating efforts to serve customers as efficiently and competently as possible, to keep track of irrigation inventory and ordering parts, and cross-training for all aspects of the job Required Qualifications: • Experience with irrigation installation or service work (min 2 years with additional experience preferred) • Understand basic pipe sizing, irrigation design, various sprinkler heads • Exemplary customer service skills • Understand workings and maintenance of irrigation pumps • Ability to inspect, troubleshoot, and repair sprinkling systems • Attention to detail • Good organizational skills • Ability to work alone and unsupervised or with a small crew • Strong communication skills and willing to interact with customers and coworkers • Self-starter with strong work ethic • Ability to prioritize and multitask • Basic computer skills to fill out daily work report • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record • Ability to contribute constructively to a team work environment • Ability to multitask and work flexibly as tasks and priorities shift to address current needs Job Requirements: • Able to lift 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the day • Valid Montana Driver’s License • Ability to use hand tools and power equipment • Ability to work in all environmental conditions • Holiday and weekend work may be required • Overtime will be required during peak season • Willing to have a background check and pass a drug test Benefits: Retirement plan, paid holidays, paid vacation, and generous employee discounts on merchandise.
