Route service for patio pots and window boxes; watering, fertilizing, trimming passed blooms, applying deer-repellant & monitoring for insects. Opportunities available to help with production in June, if experienced. June 1 through October 10. May 10-May 31 work available if needed. Work vehicle, tools, uniform & training provided. Location: 23600 HWY 24, Minturn Pay: $17/hr.-$25/hr., depending on experience Job Purpose: To prepare, plant and maintain annual flower pots & boxes at residential and commercial properties. Duties & Responsibilities: As a small team; receive & unload flower deliveries. Keep greenhouse organized, watered & dead-headed. Deliver or assist with deliveries of pots & boxes to properties. Water, dead-head, trim & fertilize pots & boxes for the duration of the annual flower season. Assist with clean-out of passed flowers following hard frost (usually Oct 1). Clean, re-label and re-stain or re-paint pots & boxes as needed. Store pots & boxes for winter. Compliance with health & safety practices is expected, as well as an attitude of professionalism. Qualifications & Training: - Previous experience with gardening not necessary, but valued. - Driver's license required. Must be insurable based on driving record. Competence Summary: - Understanding of health & safety responsiblilites. - Willingness to gain basic plant knowledge. Must learn plant species. - Comfortable interacting with homeowners. - Ability to complete all tasks to an agreed standard/quality. Work-Related Personal Requirements: - Physically able to carry-out the role. Able to carry 40 lbs. and manage steep/varied terrain. Able to stand/squat/kneel for 10-hour shift. - Must be comfortable on a ladder. - Committed and able to work as part of a team. - Hard working. - Ability to maintain motivation and positive attitude during repetitive tasks. - Conscientious & reliable. - Punctual. - Flexible attitude to work. - Good communication skills. - Ability to work seasonally (June-October).
