Are you interested in building awesome edible gardens in the Boston Area, helping people grow fruits and vegetables, and experiencing urban agriculture firsthand? We’re hiring for a gardener on our team! The role will involve edible garden installations and construction, as well as garden maintenance. HomeHarvest is an edible gardening and construction company based out of Arlington, MA with a local in-house fruit tree and berry nursery. www.homeharvest.biz Established in 2008. GARDEN SPECIALIST - Help us maintain our gardens and allow them to thrive and yield abundantly! The work for this new position entails: - Maintenance of edible landscapes, food forests, fruit trees, pollinator flower gardens, medicinal herb gardens, etc. - Maintenance and installation of raised beds for growing food. Occasional irrigation work. - Weeding, mulching, adding compost, pruning, gardening and general plant care. - Planting trees, berries, flowers, herbs, garden installation. What we’re looking for: A positive attitude and willingness to work physically in New England weather Somebody who demonstrates and practices humility Hunger for the work and our mission Emotional intelligence and ability to communicate and cooperate with others on fast paced job sites. 3+ years of relevant experience with gardening and landscaping A valid drivers license so you can drive company trucks Ability to work well independently or with others Physical and mental fitness; the work is physically challenging $23/hr minimum starting rate.
