Interested in mushrooms in the forest or in the kitchen? Come join experts, as they lead a multi-day teaching retreat for beginners and pros This event is geared toward beginners and experienced foragers alike. If you have never attended a foray before, this event is for you. Thursday Evening -This foray will kick off with a cocktail hour and dinner event. (Attendees will pay for their own dinners) This is meant to have attendees get to know the leadership of the event and each other to facilitate open communication throughout the event. Friday and Saturday will include : - Group forays during the day, exploring Barron, Burnett, Washburn counties. This involves getting into the woods and learning all about the fungal life on the trails of the woods. Teachers will be leading groups to discuss the fungal finds along our journey. - Lectures will be given for all skill levels to enhance the knowledge of all attendees - Cooking demos to enhance your culinary skills with Chefs Chad Hyatt (author of the Mushroom Hunter's Kitchen), and Forager Chef Alan Bergo (author of The Forager Chef's Book of Flora: Recipes and Techniques for Edible Plants from Garden, Field, and Forest) will be included. - Exciting UV hikes at night (Attendees are on their own for breakfast and lunch on Friday and Saturday) Dinner Friday and Saturday will be catered sit-down dining. Vegan dining options are available upon request Lodging details - There will be a block of rooms available locally at the AmeriVu Hotel in Shell Lake, WI. We will also have free camping on site. Tickets are $ 100.00 per person.
