I rescued a colony of feral kittens and cat four years ago and have been keeping them in my family room. We finally began socializing them in a separate room and now have two available for adoption. Shadow is a very black, older, part-Maine Coon, but she's very petite. She is named Shadow because she hid in the shadows for 2 years with Lizette before venturing out with people in the room. Of course, she cuddled and played with her colony mates when no person was around. Eventually, she not only came out, she started playing with toys. Shadow will require an experienced cat person to help her slowly adjust to a new home. Once she's adjusted, you'll have a wonderful companion. It shouldn’t take too long this time, since she comes to me and asks for petting. Shadow has not had her most recent vaccinations, but, as indoor cat, she has been very protected from disease. We would much prefer that she be indoor-only cat. I've found over my many years as a cat owner, my cat live longer and healthier lives when she stay indoors.
