Press release from the City of Framingham: April 1, 2021 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 04/01/2021 For further information, contact:Kelly [email protected] (508) 532-5437M (774) 285-1315 *COVID-19 Media Alert* City of Framingham Added Back to "Red" Zone with a 4.03% COVID-19 Positivity Rate Framingham, MA - Framingham has been added back to the "high risk" category on the Massachusetts COVID-19 map. Until today (since mid-February), the City was classified as "yellow" having a less than 4%  COVID-19 positivity rate. This morning, Mayor Spicer received a phone call from the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (MDPH), informing her that effective today, Framingham is back in the "red" zone with a 4.03%  COVID-19 positivity rate. Weekly, the MDPH releases a COVID-19 Public Health Report. Reference today's report here.  The City has seen an uptick in COVID-19 case counts over the last several weeks. Cities and towns in the "red" or "high-risk" category are at extremely high risk for COVID-19 infections. People should continue to wear face coverings, practice social distancing, avoid crowds, wash their hands in warm water for 20 seconds, and disinfect high-touch surfaces to slow the spread of the virus.To control community spread of COVID-19 people must follow isolation and quarantine orders.  At this time all Framingham residents ages 0 - 18 who are identified as a close contact will be quarantined for 10 days.
