SAN ANTONIO (April 1, 2021) — Yesterday, City Council voted in favor of establishing a pilot program for a community wide waitlist for COVID-19 vaccination registration for individuals 65 and older. This will be one central registry that will allow individuals to provide their contact information to vaccine providers and various enrolling entities to include City Council offices and the 311 City phone line. Individuals will be placed on a waitlist and will be contacted as vaccine appointments become available. "This pilot program will prioritize our most vulnerable residents and I am thankful to have brought this issue to the forefront along with my Council Colleagues, Councilwoman Sandoval and Councilman Courage. Because of the recent changes to vaccine registration in our state, the time has come for us to pivot, adapt, and keep moving forward. We are looking forward to giving a sense of relief to our residents as well as our providers. We are proud of our four mass vaccination hubs that will be participating and are grateful for their hard work. I look forward to seeing this program roll out and giving us positive results."
