HUDSON COUNTY, NJ — Several new groups of New Jersey residents became eligible for the coronavirus vaccine this week and more will do so on April 5, including people 55 and over. That's among the list of updates on vaccines for Hudson County residents this week. Besides registering for an appointment on the state's hub for any of the state's six megasites, the state has been updating its list of Hudson County sites (see this week's updated list below), including with several community pharmacies in Hoboken, Jersey City, Bayonne, and more. Individual towns also have added their own sites (see below). In addition, this week the state unveiled a new appointment tracker for residents. What if you don't drive? The state recently opened a megacenter in Newark that will vaccinate Hudson County residents and others. It's reachable for those who don't drive. The Johnson & Johnson one-dose vaccine is more traditional (see stories about all three vaccines here and here.) Doctors say that the important metric is that all three are effective in preventing serious illness and death from covid, and that having the majority of the public vaccinated, no matter which vaccine, will lessen the spread.Find out if you're eligible now in NJ by clicking this link.As of this week, 550,000 Americans had died of the virus.
