PLAINFIELD, IL — Easter Sunday has often created some last-minute meal preps, and many of the most popular grocery stores in and near Plainfield will be open on Sunday. Here are a few of Plainfield's local grocery stores and their Easter hours: Jewel-Osco, 13460 S Route 59, Store: 6 a.m. to 12 p.m., Pharmacy: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.Jewel-Osco, 2480 Route 59, Store: 6 a.m. to 12 p.m., Pharmacy: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.Tony's Fresh Market, 2300 Route 59, Store: 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.Meijer, 13521 S. Route 59, Store: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Pharmacy: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. National chains are varied in their opening plans for the holiday celebrated across Christian faiths. At least 38 chain stores plan to close for Easter, with at least 23 opening for at least a part of it, according to a list from the coupon company RetailMeNot. In Plainfield, these are among the stores that will be closed on Sunday: Costco, 16261 South Blvd PlTarget, 12800 Route 59Kohl's, 2510 Route 59 Pharmacy stores with locations all over the country — such as CVS, Duane Reade and Walgreens — will largely be open for their regular Sunday business hours. These Plainfield locations will be open for regular hours: Walgreens, 24801 W 135th St., Store: 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., Pharmacy: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. CVS, 11840 Illinois Route 59, Store: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Pharmacy: 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Customers should check hours of other locations in Plainfield and surrounding communities. Although the coronavirus vaccine rollout continues and many states are lifting pandemic-related restrictions, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention still urges people to limit grocery trips and use curbside pickup or delivery options when possible to limit the virus's spread. Jewel-Osco offers curbside pickup and delivery, as does Meijer. Tony's Fresh Market has curbside pickup.
