Description
This course is the first course you will take as an NRA Instructor. It is required before any of the NRA Certifications you will obtain NRA (BIT) Basic Instructor Training $75 AVGC Members use the gate code for a $10 discount This course is the first course you will take as an NRA Instructor. It is required before continuing on in any other lessons in other NRA Courses for any of the NRA Instructor certifications you wish to obtain. The goal of this program is to develop instructors to teach NRA Basic Firearm Training courses according to the lesson plans and training standards of the National Rifle Association. The NRA Instructor Training Course is designed to teach you how to teach others using NRA lesson plans and training methods. Your NRA Training Counselor will make a recommendation to the NRA concerning your certification based on an evaluation of your knowledge, skills, and attitude. You will be demonstrating your organizational and teaching skills through participation in practical exercises. You will take an examination. Attendance at the course does not guarantee that you will receive the recommendation. You are not paying for certification, you have the opportunity to become certified. You must possess and demonstrate a solid background in firearm safety and shooting skills acquired through previous firearm training and/or experience. Instructor Candidates must be intimately familiar with each action type in the discipline they wish to be certified in. You must demonstrate solid and safe firearms handling skills required to be successful during an instructor training course. Age Requirements: NRA Certified Instructors must be 21 years of age or older NRA Assistant Instructors must be 18 years of age or older NRA Apprentice Instructors are 13- 17 years of age.
