Only used this cage as a quarantine cage for a litter trained ferret for a week. The wire layer of bottom is removable I also heard chinchillas should not be on the wire so its an option there too. You may put it back in and use the cardboard provided to cover it. Or for animals like a rat I am sure you can keep it in! (I am not educated on rats).
Three beds, 2 litter boxes, few toys, two bowls, cat mermaid bed, 3 pieces of cardboard that fit the cage perfectly, few puppy pads, carrier, and litter.
