Press release from the Atlanta Police Department: 04/02/2021    n Friday April 2, 2021 at around 12:30am officers were investigating an armed robbery in the area of the 900 block of Spring St. The victim reported to officers that a male and female suspect punched her, threatened her with a firearm, and robbed her of her purse. The victim fled and called 911. After speaking to police, the victim saw the suspects parked near 955 Spring St and pointed them out to officers.  The suspects were in a black Chevrolet Camaro and a silver/gray Dodge Challenger. Back-up officers arrived and the suspect in the Camaro fled. The silver Challenger was still in the parking lot and when officers approached the driver accelerated toward officers, striking one officer. Another officer fired one shot into the front windshield of the Challenger and the vehicle fled. It is not known if anyone was struck by the officer's round. The officer hit by the vehicle was not injured. The investigation is continuing.   Please keep in mind the above information is preliminary in nature and could change as the investigation progresses or new information comes to light.
