Description
Hello!
I rescued these two parakeets last year from some pretty gnarly living conditions and have been slowly working on them becoming socialized with people. The yellow one is very food motivated and will eat from your hand *if hungry. She's got no semblance of wanting to land on your hand if she isn't hungry. The green one is still very anxious and takes a while to make it to my hand, but I think it's because he's still young. Neither have attempted to breed yet (that I've seen) but they love to spend time together, singing songs. The male will sing when the water is running, music is playing or the TV is on. Neither birds have been taught to "step up" due to them still being pretty nervous around people.
The plan was to keep them in the living room because I don't have space for them in my room, but my roommates have been voicing their displeasure at just how vocal they are (I don't notice it that much, but they definitely aren't quiet). When I tried to keep them in my room, my allergies immediately flared. I can handle bird dander in small amounts, but having them in my room is making me miserable.
I'm rehoming the birds together, along with their brand new, rolling cage (it can be taken off of the rolling stand), decorations and all their food for $100 OBO. I want them to go to a good, long-term home. These birds can be such great pets and they can live for a good while (5-10 years) with the right diet. Please email me with your information and any questions you might have and I'll be sure to get back to you asap. Thank you for reading!
