Everyone loves Petty, right? Even the losers? Anyway, I'm a guitarist/singer in his forties who knows how to play and sing about 3/4 of Petty's material, and was thinking if I could find some musicians who knew at least half of his catalog (deep cuts, covers and b-sides included), we could have have some fun, make some money and honor the man who left too soon. We don't have to do the songs note for note, nor do we have to play dress up. I'm just interested in keeping the music alive. Just know your shit and don't just be in it for the money. The money will come, but if you're playing for the money, you're going to sound like it. That said, I like money.
