Facilities Manager Catlin Gabel School-Portland, OR Full time, exempt, year-round position with paid holidays and PTO Benefits: Comprehensive medical/dental/vision and employer retirement match Catlin Gabel is a K-12 school situated on a forested, college-like campus of 30+ buildings in Portland’s West Hills. The Facilities Manager leads and directs a team of maintenance technicians and day porters to maintain the physical plant and support athletic and special events throughout the year. The work is dynamic with constant adjustment to respond to the needs of the campus, the community, and the calendar. The entire Facilities Team participates in the activities that make the Catlin Gabel School a vibrant community. You Are/Have: • Situational awareness and understand risks of operating in a school environment • Possess leadership abilities that promote professionalism, a strong work ethic, integrity, and teamwork • Strong organizational and time management skills, and are adept at utilizing technology and software to enhance efficiency of operations, resource use, and documentation • Working knowledge and skills in carpentry, plumbing, painting, and building systems • Experience in troubleshooting and problem solving • Adept at leading a team of trained and untrained people • Like to help people develop skills • Plan work carefully and give clear directions yet can change focus and adapt quickly • Current knowledge of and practice the industry and OSHA safety standards • Able to communicate and develop understanding with others who are different • Present professional and courteous behavior and a neat appearance • Can read, write, and communicate in English and read blueprints Experience Needed: • At least five years of experience maintaining large, multi-use buildings, preferably including school or institutional maintenance experience • At least two years of experience supervising multiple maintenance technicians • Working knowledge and skills in carpentry, plumbing, painting, and building systems • Possession of a valid Oregon driver’s license and an approved driving record • Bilingual capabilities a plus If this sounds like the opportunity for you, please apply at:.
