Position Summary: Plans, directs, and coordinates the distribution operations in receiving, storing, and shipping products or materials with accuracy and satisfaction. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: – Observes all safety procedures, rules and regulations, and instruction in performance of job duties. – Focuses on order fulfillment and supply chain coordination. – Oversees the Shipping and Receiving Departments to ensure 100% order and receiving accuracy. – Issues shipping instructions and provides routing information to ensure that delivery times and locations are coordinated. – Selects carriers and negotiates contracts or rates. – Plans best route for most efficient delivery and shipping processes for inbound and outgoing deliveries. – Reviews shipping orders to estimate peak delivery periods and issues work assignments. – Manages the cycle count process and schedule. – Organize warehouse and label goods. – Plans, develops, and implements warehouse safety and programs and activities. – Provides forklift training to Warehouse Workers or other employees as necessary. – Supervises logistics, warehouse, transportation, and customer services. – Responds to any shipping issues or complaints, lost items, and damaged goods. – Involved with purchasing decisions and plans Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: – Strong knowledge of fleet maintenance, less than truckload and truckload shipping, and UPS and Federal Express small package shipping is required. – Competent in procurement, import & export, distribution & warehousing, fleet management, facilities & IT management. – Prior experience working on a Safety Committees is desired. – Strong math and computer skills are required. – Strong customer service and communication skills are required. Level of Education and Experience: – One to three years prior experience as a Warehouse Lead or a warehouse team atmosphere is required. – Prior experience working in an ISO certified manufacturing environment is highly desired. – High School Diploma or equivalency is required; Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management or a related field is desired. – Certified to provide forklift truck training is preferred.
