Lead Carpenter Job Description RALEIGH, NC Core Purpose: The main role of the CSM Lead Carpenter is to oversee and perform repair work scheduled by our team. Will be responsible for leading a team (or teams) of repair persons providing exceptional service and an exceptional product to our customers. Our Lead Carpenter will be our repair expert and leaned on heavily as such by our repair team(s). Core Skills/Responsibilities: Previous experience with construction and repair is a must, most notably repairs in the crawl space, including structural repair (sills, girders, joists, subfloors, piers) and moisture remediation (interior french drains, moisture barriers, dehumidification systems). Managing crew members to perform necessary repairs for structural or moisture remediation. Candidates must have a valid Driver's License, pass a DMV license check and have reliable transportation to and from work. Candidate must have excellent people skills. Customer facing (homeowners / B2B) and Company facing (colleagues) Candidate must have a strong desire to reach and exceed set goals in all areas of the job. Responsible for working with Lead Inspector in inspections-identifying issues and creating a scope of work for repair/remediation. Inspection Assistance Duties: Identify common crawl space issues, including: High wood moisture content, standing water, water intrusion, efflorescence Wood rot, dry rot, water damage, insect damage wood Structural issues, both wood and masonry Determine health of crawl space environment. Able to accurately identify and measure damages and quantify needed repairs for pricing. Be familiar with means, methods, and materials needed in common crawl space repairs, and develop solutions to correct problems identified. Compensation: Compensation is based upon knowledge and experience. $18.00-$24.00 per hour range. Overtime available. Past experience with wood repair in crawl spaces is desired.
