Valley River Home Improvement is currently hiring for a well rounded experienced carpenter who is willing to utilize their skills with a fast growing company. We do lots of other construction work so be well rounded in your carpentry skills. We have two locations and are based in Florence Oregon and in the Eugene and Springfield area. You will be responsible for learning how to create solid surface counter tops, install and install and some cabinets in single family and multi-family homes plus finish work with install of solid surface tops. Punch work for the homes or job sites which includes but is not limited to: adjusting doors & drawers; installing scribe, toe skin & base shoe, hood housings, replacing doors, drawers & finished ends, delivering parts to job sites, assisting in the off-load of counter tops and addressing miscellaneous tasks. Necessary Skills: • Must be able to read a tape measure • Basic Math skills • Properly use analytical and observation skills • Organize, manage and multi-task work • Read and interpret blueprints • Ability to work well with minimal supervision (ABILITY TO WORK WELL WITH MINIMAL SUPERVISION) WE WILL NOT BABY SIT YOU. Requirements: More than a few requirements recommended Strong communication skills Applicant must possess strong people skills and be able to successfully interact with homeowners, project managers, and sub-contractors Previous insurance repair experience a plus Excellent time management drivers license a plus but not needed Excellent customer service Minimum 3 years experience in general construction and framing Minimum 3 years experience in remodel and/or property restoration work Must be able to manage and complete multiple tasks daily Strong customer service skills Strong organizational skills If you have what we are looking for, we want you! Working Conditions: SAFETY FIRST Time spent driving to job sites. May be required to wear company apparel, hard hats, safety vests, safety glasses. Field conditions vary from job to job. Regular noise from saws and other machines. This is a full-time position with some overtime required. Workdays are Monday thru Friday with some Saturdays required. May be required to work with sub-contracted install crews. Travel and overnight stays are possible. NOT TOLERATED: Showing up to work late, on the job drug use, or drinking. We work with dangerous tools like saws and blades We will administer drug tests and alcohol breathalyzer tests if needed. Refusing a urinalysis test and or a breathalyzer results in automatic termination from our company. Pay depends on experience and leadership ability to run day to day operations. We will train how we want things done and if you can do that then you will be compensated greatly.
