POSITION: Farm Equipment Operator/Mechanic YEAR-ROUND – LITCHFIELD, NH Wilson Farm,Inc, LITCHFIELD, NH seeks a full-time, year-round individual to join our agricultural team on a 550 acre diversified vegetable and small fruit farm. The Farm Equipment Operator/Mechanic is responsible for driving all farm equipment (tractors, loaders, forklifts) and do general farm work (planting, spraying, harvesting), maintenance support of farm equipment and assisting the Farm Manager and owners in achieving farm goals. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS • Utilize farm equipment to perform daily tasks including but not limited to planting, spraying, harvesting, cultivating and mowing. • Set up irrigation equipment • Maintain and repair farm equipment as needed • Supervise a crew when planting or harvesting with a high level of detail and quality • Load/unload trucks • Help to keep records for food safety and detailed records for equipment maintenance. • Other projects as assigned by Farm Manager and/or Owners Work Schedule: YEAR-ROUND • Full-time Wednesday – Monday (Tuesdays off) averaging 60 hours/week during planting/growing/harvesting season (April – thru October) and 40 hours/week during the winter. Physical requirements: • Riding farm equipment for prolonged periods of time; standing, bending, reaching, grabbing of tools; turning with wrist/hand/fingers • Must be able to lift approx. 40+lb Qualifications: • 2+ years previous experience operating and maintaining mechanical integrity of farm equipment, trucks, tractors or other large equipment • Prior agricultural experience • Positive attitude and strong work ethic • Valid U.S. driver’s license and driving record in good standing • Have or be able to obtain a NH pesticide license (OUR EXPENSE). • High School/Trade School/Mechanic School education We offer competitive wages and benefits, which are commensurate with candidate's applicable work experience, in a friendly, customer-driven environment.
