DO YOU LOVE THE LOOK OF APPLIQUE... Come try your hand at Raw Edge Applique! Applique quilts are just beautiful, aren’t they? I know, you don’t want to do all that hand work, but what if you could make beautiful applique blocks by machine? You’ll start with a paper backed fusible web along with the blanket stitch, and soon you’ll have created beautiful applique work done right on your home machine! Use a pattern that you already own, try one out of Pat Sloan’s book, or the teacher will provide a simple pattern for you. Skill Level – Confident Beginner SUPPLY LIST For Your Applique: -Bring a Pattern of Your choice with all the appropriate fabrics needed OR -Pick a pattern from the book “Teach Me to Applique” by Pat Sloan, with all the appropriate fabrics needed (if the background needs to be pieced, that should be done before class) OR -A simple pattern will be provided by the teacher, fabrics for that include: Background – 10 inch square Small pieces of fabric for leaves, flower, flower center, and a fat eight to use for bias stems Fusible Web – Soft Fuse or Wonder Under or fusible of your choice Machine in good working order with an open toe zig zag foot Machine Manual Thread – to match applique pieces or pick one color for all, often you see black used Scissors – paper and fabric Parchment paper or applique pressing sheet Pins Elmer’s School Glue, if you have it Seam Ripper Fabric Marking pen Sharpie or other permanent marking pen Pencil and Paper Book – “Teach Me to Applique” by Pat Sloan is a good reference, but is not required Check your local quilt shop or buy it on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Pat-Sloans-Teach-Me-Applique/dp/1604685239/ref=sr_1_6?dchild=1&keywords=pat+sloan&qid=1616032009&s=books&sr=1-6 CLASS POLICY - Payment secures your spot in a class. - A notice of at least 3 days (72 hours) is required from a registered student who is unable to attend the class in order to receive a credit for the class. - If weather or other circumstances become an issue on the day of a scheduled class, the class may have to be canceled. You will receive an email or phone call to notify you should that happen. Every attempt will be made to reschedule a class. If MLM Quilting has to canceled and reschedules a class, you have the option to re-register or opt for a credit.
