As part of this workshop, Dr. Daniels will discuss the concept of intersectionality, and its application to individuals who stutter. Join us to hear Dr. Derek Daniels, Ph.D., CCC-SLP, as he discusses “Stuttering in Underrepresented Populations.” As part of this workshop, Dr. Daniels will discuss the concept of intersectionality, its relevance to social identity, and its application to individuals who stutter. Research will be reviewed on the experiences of individuals who stutter in marginalized groups, with particular emphasis on race and sexual orientation. Implications for research and clinical practice will be discussed.
