Celebrate health and wellness! Please join us for a fun Earth Day hike. This is a 3.5 mile loop hike with two waterfalls.
It is rated easy by the App, All Trails (which is free). The falls have been a State Park since 1942 and is free to park. There are two parking lots and the larger lot is on Wadsworth Street. A small lot is on Cherry Hill Road (fyi). For our hike we will start at Wadsworth Street.
This trail can be a little muddy or buggy so wear appropriate footwear and I use mosquito / tick spray by repel.
Meeting time: 3pm On April 22nd as this hike may take 2+ hours with a group. Traffic wise your GPS may take you through Middletown so add extra time. We will step off at 3:15pm.
I suggest for those new to hiking that you wear hiking shoes / boots or sneakers with a good textured tread as there is a little hill that can be slippery if it is wet. Also feel free to bring trekking pole (sticks). I always bring my sticks and find they save me on almost every hike.
Things to bring:
Water bottle with a holder (especially if you are using sticks). I do not know if the lavatories are open yet so be aware of that.
Bring a backpack, bring a snack, sunglasses, bug spray, a charged phone and anything you feel will help you out on the trail.
A few tips, be aware of your surroundings, watch your steps (lots of rocks) and know your body if you need a break – take one.
Bring a First Aid Kit if you choose. Band-Aids have been used in the past!
All ages welcome and family member. If you want to bring your children this is a good hike for kids 7+. I’d bring an extra pair of sneakers for the ride home due to possible mud.
