Join Daybreak for a rip roaring fun time at our Dragon Boat Race & Festival! This free agent team sign up is intended for those who don't have a full community team and want to sign up with others to make a full team. If you already have a full team (17 minimum - 21 maximum people), please sign your team up at: https://www.mydaybreak.com/live_news_detail_T16_R703.php DRAGON BOAT RACE is part of LiveDAYBREAK'S DRAGON BOAT FESTIVAL DATE & TIME: August 28th at 9:30 am until 2:30 pm. (Date is fixed. Timeframe is approximate) LOCATION: Oquirrh Lake - 10856 Oquirrh Lake Rd, South Jordan, UT, 84009O -Cross streets Isla Daybreak Road & Oquirrh Lake Road by Spiderman Park ELIGIBILITY: This race is intended for NOVICE RACERS and is a SHORT COURSE. Anyone physically able - 16 years of age and up - can participate. Daybreak Residents and Non-residents welcome. Must sign a waiver to participate. PROVIDED: Dragon boats, paddles, a drum, and life preservers will be provided. Each team will get a one-hour practice session with a professional the week of the event between 4-9 pm, either Thursday, August 26th or Friday, August 27th. Also provided will be a professional steersperson on each boat during the event to provide direction and ensure the safety of participants. Each team will race 3 times throughout the event. The first race will determine which bracket each team will be placed in for the remainder of the tournament. The dragon boat race is a fundraiser for The Refugee & Immigrant Center - Asian Association of Utah charity. All proceeds will go to them.
