Following the death of their child, Yésica and Pedro join the millions of other Venezuelan refugees as they flee their country in the largest mass migration in recent Latin American history. Uproot: The Venezuelan Exodus follows the young couple as they make their way through the neighboring country of Colombia in search of a safe place to raise their 10 day old newborn. Crossing paths with many other refugees, Uproot: The Venezuelan Exodus unveils the complex roadblocks they face as they flee political and economic turmoil, mass starvation, barbaric violence, and a total societal collapse in their home country of Venezuela.
