Description
SUDBURY, MA — The Goodnow Library building will reopen to patrons this week for the first time since the coronavirus pandemic began last spring.
It's not a full reopening, with town and library officials planning to open the Goodnow building during limited hours two days per week. The library will also have a capacity of 25 patrons at once, plus other safety measures like one-way aisles — and the library will enforce 6-foot social distancing and masks.
To start, the library will be open on Tuesdays from 10 to 11 a.m. for people over 65, and from noon to 4 p.m. for all other patrons. Then on Thursdays from 1 to 2 p.m. for anyone over 65, and 2 to 7 p.m. for all other patrons.
"We can't wait to see our patrons again," Library Director Esmé Green said in a news release. "Using the library will be a very different experience, and we ask our patrons for patience as we transition to a full reopening in the future."
The Goodnow had been hosting outdoor browsing events during warm weather, and has been offering curbside pickup for nearly a year. The curbside service will continue alongside the building's reopening.
