SALEM, MA — North Shore Community Health Center, with locations in Gloucester, Peabody and Salem, was awarded more than $3 million in federal funds for its coronavirus response as part of the American Rescue Plan Act. The funds are intended to help the community health clinics administer coronavirus vaccines and care for sick patients. "Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, the team at North Shore Community Health has been on the front lines working nonstop and risking their lives to care for the sick," U.S. Rep. Seth Moulton said. "They are heroes, and the work continues as cases continue and we ramp up vaccinations. "This grant will help end the pandemic by getting shots in arms as fast as possible." The grant is designed to increase vaccination availability to populations hardest hit during the pandemic. It will help expand vaccinations, testing and treatment, deliver primary health services to those at high risk for the virus and help expand mobile units. "These critical resources are arriving at just the right time to improve NSCH's ability to more quickly get lifesaving vaccines into the arms of our patients and members of the communities we serve," said Margaret A. Brennan, President and CEO of North Shore Community Health. "We have been vaccinating our patients since January, but with resources we had to redirect from caring for our patients. "This funding will provide NSCH with the ability to play an even greater role in the fight against COVID-19 while still ensuring we can provide excellent care to our patients."
