PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — Patch recently partnered with the SPCA/Humane Society of Prince George's County. Each week, we will bring you the cutest pets looking for homes. Here are this week's adorable adoptables. Click on their names for more information. Apache Personality: I'm a year old, but still a precocious kitten! I love attention and playing with toys. I'm very curious and like to explore. I'm learning to wait patiently for food instead of stealing it. My foster mom keeps telling me that I'm always going to have good food and I don't have to fight for it, but it's hard to remember that sometimes. I'm very busy, so can only be held and cuddled for a minute – I have things to do! Despite some bad habits, my foster mom tells me I'm a sweet, silly boy. I like to talk too, especially when I think you might feed me. I'll literally sing for my supper! Hobbies: Eating and playing with toys. Favorite Toys: Feathers on strings, plastic springs. Favorite Napping Spot: Curled up next to my foster mom. How I Came To The SPCA: My brother and I lost our home when an infant came to live in our house. We were put outside to fend for ourselves. A few months later, a neighbor saw us digging in a trash can and after talking to our former owner, called the PGSPCA for help. They took us in and we are so happy to be in a warm, safe home again! Dream Family: I would like a family that will play with me a lot and be patient with me as I learn to be a spoiled house cat again. I'd like to go home with my brother, Shawnee. We don't always get along, but he's been with me my whole life, even when we had to live outside. I have a lot of energy and curiosity, and would like a home where I can run around and explore. Also, please make sure there's always space for me to sleep next to you. Shawnee Personality: I'm a shy boy and take a while to come out of my shell. I am still learning to trust people again, and that I am safe and will always have food and love. It's been hard for me to learn that I don't need to scavenge and steal food. My foster mom tells me I'm always going to have food, but it's hard to remember. I like to be petted for a minute, but get overwhelmed by the attention. When I feel comfortable, I act like a silly kitten chasing after my toys. Hobbies: Playing with toys, sniffing out treats. Favorite Toys: Strings and feathers, scratching posts. Favorite Napping Spot: In my little cat bed or on the cat tree. Dream Family: I would like a quiet, patient family that will help me learn that I'm always going to be safe and don't have to be afraid or fight for food. I also get easily overwhelmed and sometimes bite and growl. I promise I don't bite too hard, and I don't mean to hurt anyone. I would like to stay with my brother. We don't always get along, but we've always stuck together through the ups and downs of our short lives. I don't think I want to be without him. The local SPCA is a volunteer-run organization that does not operate a physical shelter. Volunteers house the animals in their own homes until they are adopted. Every pet up for adoption is listed here. To start the adoption process, fill out this form. Anyone with questions can call (301) 262-5625 or email [email protected]. Have a story idea?
