NEWARK, NJ — UPDATE: Newark police said Thursday that Benjamin Norman has been found and is unharmed. Our original article follows below. Newark police are asking for the public's help finding a missing, "endangered" man. According to the Newark Department of Public Safety, Benjamin Norman, 67, was reported missing on Thursday morning. He was last seen on the 500-block of South 17th Street, and is known to frequent the 800-block of Frelinghuysen Avenue. "Norman speaks both English and Spanish and suffers from the early stages of dementia," authorities said. Police said Norman is 5 feet 5 inches and 90 pounds. He has a dark-brown skin complexion, black hair and brown eyes. He was wearing blue jeans with a burgundy sweater, red baseball cap and burgundy boots. Anyone with information about the whereabouts of Benjamin Norman can call the department's 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477).
