The UPS Store is giving away 50,000 FREE books to children across the San Diego area in support of the Toys for Tots Literacy Program
The UPS Store is proud to support the Toys for Tots Literacy Program teaming up with the San Diego Council on Literacy as they distribute 50,000 FREE books to underserved children in the San Diego area. This event is open to the public and all books are free to those who can attend.
The UPS Store’s school bus will be stopping by the parking lots of St. James Lutheran Church, The Jacobs Center and Lexington Elementary School to give out 12 different book titles for children ages 1 through 12. A coupon for 15% off The UPS Store’s packing services will also be included with each book.
The UPS Store will distribute books to people in cars and to people that prefer to walk up to the bus to accommodate everyone’s comfortability with COVID-19 safety measures.
After the events, the San Diego Council on Literacy will keep any remaining books to distribute as they see fit throughout the year.
In support of the Toys for Tots Literacy Program, The UPS Store locations have collected more than $7.3 million and donated more than 43 million books to kids in need over the past 13 years. In 2020, The UPS Store had a record-breaking year collecting nearly $2 million that will go directly to help purchase books for children across the country.
