Job Description
We are seeking several live-in ranch hands that can operate farm equipment, move and care for horses and cattle, stock feed, load product for feed store customers, all kinds of nitty gritty ranch work.
Alaska Horse Ranch is an all-around equestrian facility, offering lessons in both English and western disciplines, trail rides throughout 240 acres of Alaskan wilderness, horse training and boarding, and a daily operating feed store.
Provided Group bunkhouse is a newly remodeled 4-bedroom 2 bath bunk house. Each room has a locking door. Also complete with laundry facility, large deck, sauna, BBQ and firepit. Overlooks the Mat-Su Valley with no neighbors in sight, just true Alaskan wilderness. NOTE: this is a shared housing facility.
Duties to include:
• Daily farm chores, early in the morning and late in the evening
• Loading hay by hand and with tractor
• Stall cleaning
• Help with livestock
• Moving and stocking feed
• Fixing fences
• General animal husbandry of livestock
• Watering and feeding livestock
• etc.
Job requirements:
• This is a permanent year-round position at mile 53 of the Parks Highway
• Must be 18 years or older
• Must arrive to work on time
• No excessive facial piercings or inappropriate visible tattoos, or piercings must be removed for work.
• A can-do attitude
• Animal oriented mindset
• Not afraid of getting dirty while having fun
• Must be able to lift at least 60 lbs
• Must be able to dress appropriately for ALL weather types
• Experience with horses and livestock is preferred
