Building a new house from scratch

Hi, I am planning to build a house this year and at the moment working on finding a right lot to build the house. I am not planning to do it by myself and planning to use services of a General contractor, Architect, Excavation and all the areas of house building. I really appreciate if anyone can share more information or resources to make my work easy. I will need help right from identifying right piece of land, plans, getting city approvals,preparing the padded site, foundation and all the next steps.
