This drive-thru giveaway is a local San Gabriel Valley event in honor of Black Maternal Health Week 2021- a national, annual event. There will have fresh produce for up to 250 families. Any additional items are while supplies last. Only one registration per family please. In LA County, Black moms have been dying 4x more than other mothers and it is trending up. Crisis events, such as the COVID-19 pandemic, have only negatively impacted the health and wellness of all, hitting those already facing disparity the hardest. The most recent available data shows San Gabriel Valley has the 2nd highest number of both preterm and low-birth weight Black infants among all other regions in LA County. Due to the nature of Black Maternal Health Week, this event is focused on addressing the needs of residents in the San Gabriel Valley that identify as African-American, Black and/or African descent. Also, please have at least one child in the family. However, if your family is in need of food items and you do not identify as mentioned above, please sign up anyways and we will reach out to you.
