LA GRANGE, IL — Officers from the La Grange Police Department made one arrest this week and have handled a number of other criminal complaints from around the community. Here is information from the reports. A 48-year-old Portage, Indiana man was arrested at 9:46 p.m. on March 29 after being involved in a traffic accident, police said. Ivan Ramirez was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and failure to reduce his speed to avoid an accident. Officers were able to determine at the scene of the accident that Ramirez appeared to be intoxicated. Other complaints included: A complaint was filed by a resident in the 700 block of South La Grange Road on March 28 that they had heard a noise the previous night and found damage done to their front two windows of their house. The damage was determined to have been caused by a BB gun.A complaint was filed by a resident in the 100 block of Spring Ave. on March 29 stating that between Feb. and April 2020, they noticed several pieces of jewelry missing from their house. The various items have a value of $7,500, police said. The person could not determine exactly when the items were stolen. Police report information is provided by local police departments. Charges are not evidence of guilt. They are a record of police actions on a given day, and persons charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
