JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL — A shooting in west Jefferson County Tuesday was the result of a domestic dispute, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office. The incident occurred the 700 Block of Fields Lane just before noon. Sgt. Joni Money of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said one person was shot and taken to UAB Hospital. The condition of the patient is unknown. Family members told deputies the shooting was a case of self-defense, Money said. Detectives are continuing their investigation and are currently interviewing those involved.
