BIRMINGHAM, AL — A 44-year-old Birmingham man is dead after a shooting early Thursday morning. The incident just before 4:30 a.m. at 1516 Vanderbilt Road. Sgt. Rod Mauldin said the investigation suggests that an altercation led to the shooting. The deceased has been identified as Louis Bryant, 44, of Birmingham. A person of interest is in custody of Birmingham police. This is Birmingham's 22nd murder investigation of the year.
